The New England Patriots beat the Cleveland Browns in a lopsided game on Sunday, October 16.
The New England Patriots came down to Cleveland to square off against the Browns. This was a huge game for the possible AFC playoff seeding as both teams needed a win.
Both teams came into the game with a record of 2-3. While both teams didn’t have the best start, they didn’t have the worst either.
Browns’ Backup Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has been filling in for star Quarterback Deshaun Watson due to suspension. Brissett came into the season as a career backup, but that doesn’t change his passion for the game.
“The man loves football… It’s his team. He loves being here, and he wants to win. It means a lot to him,” says Anthony Poisal, Browns Team Staff Writer.
The Browns also have arguably the best Running Back in the league in Nick Chubb, the NFL leader in rushing yards. They also have an elite back-up in Kareem Hunt.
The Browns usually dominate the run game. This week the offense couldn’t get going as they ran the ball 17 times to their usual 33 attempts.
“We have to do the small things right. Starting today, we’re going to get back on track,” says Chubb when asked what went wrong this past Sunday.
Not only do the Browns have one of the best offensive players in the league, they also have one of the best defensive players in Myles Garrett. Garrett came into the game with 3 sacks piling up 2 more and a forced fumble versus New England.
Garrett missed the games against the Atlanta Falcons two weeks ago due to a car crash but was ready to suit up versus the Patriots.
“He made a number of plays yesterday that I don’t know if there’s too many other guys that would’ve made him. He’s really a special player. I have a ton of respect for him,” says all-time great head coach Bill Belicheck when asked how he felt about Myles Garrett breaking the Cleveland Browns sack record.
The Browns attempted to reach .500 as they traveled to Baltimore for the in-division rivalry game on Sunday, October 23 but fell short.
