The Canfield Scaregrounds are open throughout October and are an exciting Halloween attraction for people throughout the area.

The Scaregrounds are located in a part of the Canfield Fairgrounds in Canfield, OH. They feature five different adult attractions, paintball and one kid’s attraction. All of the adult attractions include the Gore Reformatory, the Slaughterhouse, the Haunted Circus, the Neon Nightmare and the largest attraction: the Barn of Evil.

Ella Bailey, a freshman, expresses what she enjoyed about going to the Scaregrounds.

“My favorite attraction was the Barn of Evil because it was the longest and had the scariest actors. I really liked getting to go with my friends and going through the haunted houses with them,” says Bailey.

The Canfield Scaregrounds sell a number of different foods and products that people can buy while they are there. Similarly to how the Canfield Fair has different trucks with fair food in them, the Scaregrounds also have a few that sell multiple different foods there. They sell hoodies, t-shirts, beanies and other types of clothing. Each of them featuring different yearly designs.

Alyssa Carcelli, a freshman, comments on the hoodies she’s gotten in the past.

“The quality of the sweatshirt was really good and the designs from the last three years I’ve gone have been very interesting and cool,” says Carcelli.

Over the last few years, the Scaregrounds have risen in popularity and have become one of the main places people go in October. It’s a great way for people to bond and come together to have fun for the Halloween season.

Bailey recommends the Scaregrounds to anyone interested in going.

“I would definitely go back if I could. It’s a great place to go with any group of people and even though it was scary, being with friends can make it a lot of fun,” says Bailey.
